We are not allowed to travel at the moment, so everything we can do is remembering our beautiful journeys and hope we can go back to “normal” life as soon as possible.
Below you’ll find a review of three gluten free restaurants we found in Rovaniemi, and if you have to follow a gluten free diet too, the most important thing to learn before going to Finland is: Gluteeniton.
Yuca Rovaniemi
Now this is going to sound bad, and we apologise in advance to every mexican person reading – it must feel the same as when people tell me that Domino’s is the best pizza they’ve ever had.
Although, I’ve never enjoyed a burrito and tortillas as much as I did there. All the ingredients were fresh and delicious, the portion was huge and there’s nothing I can complain about – 10/10! The atmosphere makes it a nice date-night too, highly recommended.

Coffee House
Imagine your average hipster, cosy coffee shop where you’d get a nice flat white and do some work while watching the world go by.
Add some really nice gluten free cake, swinging chairs and comfy sofas.
We went there everyday when in Rovaniemi, such a nice place – not the cheapest, but worth it for the warmth in winter time.
Kauppayhto (Pure Burger)
This gastro-pub/diner/pizzeria makes the perfect choice for dinner time. It is divided into two “sections”: one of them is a pizzeria, with slightly fancier decor and a nice oven, the other one has an American-diner feel to it.
We went for a burger there, they offer GF options for every item in the menu and I got a reindeer burger with some delicious chips. Blake got a chilli burger with chilli chips – he does love his spices.
The damage was 44,30€ – not bad at all, considering the Finnish prices.
